La Detourbe is a traditional Normandy Longhouse, set in extensive grounds, on the edge of the AndainesForest(Foret des Andaines) in the NormandyMaineRegionalPark(Parc de Normandy Maine). The surrounding countryside is ideal for outdoor activities.
The rental property is a barn conversion, with the owners living next door in the original farm house. In the conversion there are two fully self-contained, centrally heated gites, ideal for couples or families with young children, suitable for use throughout the year. Guests have full use of a large conservatory opening onto the sun terrace, at the rear of the property.
In addition to the facilities in each Gite, there is access to a laundry room, off the sun terrace, which houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and a dish washer. There is also ample garden furniture and a large barbecue, situated on the sun terrace. For young families we have available two put-u-up beds, a full size cot, two travel cots, a high chair and changing mat, plus a collection of toys. For young children there is a garden swing, sand pit and small and large paddling pools. For the more energetic we have available a selection of adult bicycles ( bring your own safety helmets !! ).
